Held at a separate venue for the first time, this year’s homecoming featured several new changes from the past homecomings held in the cafeteria. Senior Mario Harris, the high school president, along with the rest of High School STUCO, were the ones to institute this.

“It was something different, and we felt as if we would get a bigger…outcome if we decided to have it somewhere else, and that was a request that a lot of people also wanted,” Harris said.

This year, the theme was the New York Fashion Gala Walk, which was based on Harris’ idea during planning.

“We were struggling with the theme…and we were in a meeting, I was sitting there, and I was scrolling through my Instagram, and I remembered I had saved some pictures from the New York Fashion Gala,” Harris said.

He thought the theme idea would be appealing to students, because unlike its previous whimsical themes, this one encouraged attendees to dress nicely. “A lot of people showed up, I feel like a lot of people enjoyed themselves.”
