A Court Of Frost and Starlight: an amazing addition to the “ACOTAR” series

Sarah J. Maas just came out with a new installment in the  “A Court of Thorns and Roses” (“ACOTAR”) series “A Court of Frost And Starlight”. The book series is set in a fantasy world where mystical being called Fae are separated by wall between their two territories. It follows this girl named Feyra who I think is the most amazing powerful person ever.

In the beginning of the series the reader meets Feyra living in a small village not too far away from the wall. It is the middle of winter and she is in charge of getting food for her father and two bratty sisters so she desperately kills a wolf and sells the fur to get food. Little does he know that the wolf was a shapeshifting Fae. Two days later a monster bursts through the door and tells her the price for killing his friend is to either die here or come with him over the wall, unharmed. Since Feyra was smart she of course choose the ladder and went over the wall and started her great adventure. (SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ  IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY READ THE FIRST TWO BOOKS). Little does she know she will fall in love with that monster who in normal form is a sexsist sad terrible man whom we all come to know as Tamlin.

Thankfully “Feyra darling” comes to her senses. She meets the wonderful Rhyeesand. In the second book “A Court of Mist and Fury” they fall in love. This book is set after the breakup of Feyre and Tamlin, after the romance of Feyre and Rhys, (SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ  IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY READ THE FIRST THREE BOOKS) and after the war between the Courts and Hybern where the wall between the two realms is destroyed.

It is the winter solstice which is much like our christmas a time of joy and where presents are shared. Feyre, Rhys and the rest of the court of dreams family are getting ready for the solstice. But the whole family is still scarred mentally from the war. This book is formatted very differently from the other ACOTAR books. It jumps between the different characters between the different chapters much like in her other book series Throne of Glass which is another series I love. I think that is very captivating for the reader because it gives me a different perspective of the characters I already know from Feyra’s point of view it also gives the reader more of each characters backstory.

I also like how they have kept the drama between Nesta And Cassian going Cassian SPOILER ALERT they have not talked since the battle with Hybern and something weird is going on with Nesta. It also delves deeper into the Illarians(winged warrior fae) relations with the girls in the camps and tells you what Rhys and Cassian are doing to get them trained.

That is as much as I can say because otherwise I will spoil the whole book. This book like all the others is written beautifully.I would not recommend this to anyone under the age of 13 that was when I first started reading the series and it felt like the right time. I would recommend “A Court of Frost And Starlight” to anyone who likes to escape to another world that is full of mystical wonder and romance and drama that will make you sit on the edge of your seat.
