“Well I think December is most important to me because it’s full of joy and being able to see loved ones who you may not be able to see a lot. I also love the cold and being able to make beautiful memories,” Brooke Schuessler, Freshman.

“[My favorite part of November] is probably the food, honestly, You get into the time of Thanksgiving and giving back. That whole spirit is really important to me of giving to people less fortunate. November is really a time of love and embrace for me.” -Kohl Parker, Sophomore

“I like to draw, it calms my nerves sometimes when I’m stressed. I’m good at making people. [They] seem more interesting than other things to me. People come in different kinds, like some have curly hair, some have blue eyes, some have straight hair, long hair, all that.” Aniya Woods, 11th grade.

“What do I expect from my future husband? Ok, he has to be really nice, I prefer that he has some money so I can do what I want to do and he does his own thing and I do mine. He can’t be super clingy because I think thats really annoying. I can cook and you’re going to sit down and eat and if you don’t sit down, you are going to get stabbed.”

“It’s a public school with lots of different people, Ive been to public schools before so it’s similar to any other public school but with an artistic twist which I like, which is why it’s cool.
There are a lot of differences, Rosati-Kain (Claire’s previous school) was an all girls Catholic high school so this is a huge, like on a totally different plane than this one, but I like it, I like the freedom here more. There arent as many restrictions, creativity is allowed, but at my old school it was hard to find a good niche where you could express yourself freely.”

I feel like I’m exactly where I need to be. The kids have been awesome. The teachers have been amazing resources in making me feel at home and helping me with any problems. A lot of my kids from student teaching remembered me, so that was welcoming and not as intimidating as teaching a bunch of high schoolers that don’t know you. -Caitlin Munguia, Visual Art Department

I would have to say - to literally anyone - understand others; understand that you are not the center of the universe. Other people have feelings, and understand you are not the only one who matters; of course, you do matter - but you are not the center of it all. ‘Cause that leads to selfishness, and that leads to war, and just calm down. - Noelle Roth, Freshman
