“My family is very important to me because, without my family I would be nothing but a poor 14 year old boy. One of the most important is my mom because she is the one who inspires me and basically the one who raised me. The second is my dad because I didn’t really have a father when I grew up and he came into my life and raised me to be a young man. The third is my uncle. He helped me to become a strong and encouraging man and he helped me to basically stand strong and don’t let anybody bother you. Things like self defense. The last is my Granny.  She taught me to cook, like with little stuff first […] those are the people I would like to have unlimited amount of time with.” -Deontae Collins, 8th grade
