GCAA Radio Auditions

Valera Robinson, Staff Writer

Recently GCAA students got the opportunity to work with Maxine Clark from Build A Bear. Clark was looking for student talent so she came to John Klein,a GCAA administration staff member, asking if any of our students would be interested in doing a radio ad about her new app. Klein knew that there were some students that had experience with the radio ad from the past. He contacted those previous students and explained what this audition was for. When students auditioned, Clark herself, picked 12-15 kids for the advertisement. The students were helping Clark in the promotion phase of her app and website called “Blue Print 4 Summer.”

The new website is for parents looking for summer camps for kids. You just choose between categories of academics, arts, cooking, crafts, dance, drama, music, nature or stem.  If your child has special needs, is a gifted students, or need before and/or aftercare or scholarships, those are also available. You choose the time of day for your child, (morning, afternoon, day or overnight), the location, age, gender, and cost. Once you submit this information to the site or app, it gives you a list of great camps in your location, with your price ranges and other choices. This sort of website and app connects people all over St. Louis and brings them together, helping them succeed as a team.
