Students auditioned at De Smet Jesuit High School and were required to sing a rehearsed song, as well as identify the key signatures for the sight singing portion.

“I’ve done this before, and it’s good to be around people who already knew what they were doing. Everyone automatically knew the songs because we had all practiced before hand,” said Zach Clawges, Senior.

“With the different conductors, they always give you different bits of advice that you can apply to songs here at school,” continued Clawges when asked how this experience could impact the vocal department at GCAA.

“The day of, it’s always terrifying, but it’s never as bad as it seems.”
