Middle School Student Council will sponsor a Rummage Sale Saturday, January 28, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the South Cafeteria. Proceeds will benefit GCAA’s first Grade 8 Awards Dinner/Dance as well as the Counselors’ Emergency Fund. Donations are being sought now. Please drop off your gently used clothing, toys, or household items before or after school in Ms. Oyola or Ms. Zeisset’s rooms. For larger donation loads, please drop off items the day before the sale, Friday, January 27, after school at the South Café door facing Grandel Square.

The Gay Straight Alliance will meet today after school from 3:15 to 4:15 in room 113.

This Thursday, January 26th, the Grand Center Arts Academy Dance Ensemble will be performing in the “Rising Star” series for Dance for Food, hosted by Artists for a Cause.  Dance for Food is a program designed to unite the dance community, rallying audiences to collect food for the hungry. The only admission fee is a bag of unexpired, nonperishable goods.

*Dance For Food is a food drive event happening on Sunday, January 29th at 3pm in the Sun Theater. Come watch professional groups from around the St. Louis area join together to give back to the community, including Big Muddy Dance Company, the Ashleyliane Dance Company, and MADCO.  Admission to the show is a bag of non-perishable foods. Dance for Food is sponsored by Artists for a Cause.

The Social Justice Solidarity Network will meet in room 501 on Monday, January 30th during advisory. See Mr. Evan Smith for a pass beforehand.

*Global Ethos student travelers headed to Nicaragua this summer will meet for our regularly schedule preparation meeting on Wednesday at 3:15 in room 501.

*February 10 is the Sweetheart Dance for middle school from 3:30 to 6:30. Ticket prices are $2 at the door. Any student that has a referral between January 30th to February 10th will not be able to attend. If the student already bought a ticket and then receives a referral, there will not be a refund given to the student.
