Tracy Mense plans trip to Europe for summer of 2018

Michael Wafford, Staff Writer

In the middle of June 2018, students are traveling with Tracy Mense, high school social studies teacher, on a trip to Europe. Students will be visiting Germany, Italy, and Switzerland for 10 days. They will be taking tours and learning with local guides and their personal tour director. Students will have 8 overnight stays in hotels and will get to know European culture with European breakfasts and dinner each day as they stay in Frankfurt, Rothenburg, Munich and other European cities. Some other places they will visit while in those cities include: the Lucerne Lion Monument, Neuschwanstein Castle, and Doges Palace before heading back home.

Mense had previously gone with another company when she was in high school.

“I’m definitely looking forward to going to Switzerland, doing some really cool stuff in Lucerne and we’re gonna travel up the Swiss Alps…We’re going to go to Munich, spend an afternoon in Dachau Concentration Camp, it’s going to be very interesting.”. Mense has a positive review of her experiences while in Europe.

“I remember hanging out with the kids that were there and just exploring,” said Mense.

All students from 9th to 12th grade are allowed to attend; the trip isn’t limited to Mense’s classes. The price for the trip is around $3400 for the month of June. If you are interested in attending, you can sign up in Mense’s room, 504.

“It’s gonna be exciting. If kids still want to sign up, I still have a couple more spots open,” said Mense. She will start getting passports for the trip after December. If you would like to learn more about the experience you can go to: www.eftours.com.
