Incentives offered for blood drive participants due to low supply

Natalie O'Dell, Business Manager

The annual Red Cross Blood Drive is offering higher incentives this year, due to a shortage of blood supply. These incentives include a T-Shirt, a 5 dollar amazon gift card, and donuts provided by Dunkin’ Donuts.

“They told us…it’s always a little bit more serious in winter months to have that shortage…because more people will need blood in the winter,” Makerspace teacher and STUCO adviser Laura Schuwerk said.

Because an issue with heating the bloodmobile last year, which led to the blood drive being cancelled, Schuwerk and the Red Cross workers have made arrangements to conduct it in the Mezzanine in the Sun Theatre.

The blood drive will be Monday December 3rd, at 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
