Thespian Troupe 828 is hosting Mission Improvable, an improv comedy night competition April 26th. Create a team of 4-5 group members, fill out the registration form, submit the form with the entry money. A cash prize will be awarded to the winning team. All pathways and grades are welcome to form a team, you must find a teacher sponsor for your team. Prom is April 29th, at Windows on Washington, from 7:00-10:00 pm. Tickets are $65 each and will be on sale at lunch from Wednesday, April 5 – Tuesday, April 18. All fines and fees must be paid first in the office prior to buying a ticket. Guest forms available in the office and require multiple signatures.

The BIG annual Art Show is coming up, Thursday, April 20th from 6-8pm.  Artwork from the entire year will be on display in both the GCAA lobby and the Sun Theater Mezzanine.  There is a $2 admission fee.  Specific artworks will be for auction as well as an art shop where photography and graphic design work will be for sale.  AP Studio artists: Clare Whyte, Everett Schoenke, Zoe Dickerson, Safa Caplinger and Anastasia Roth will be featured artists at the show.

GCAA, in partnership with Education in Space, is sending experiments into space on a rocket. The launch is May 15 from the Spaceport in New Mexico. The experiments are enclosed in a 3-D printed box with work done by students in grades 6-8. When the rocket returns to Earth, the box will be returned to GCAA at the International Space Development Conference, also taking place in May. Since this is a developing project that’s happening fast, more details will be shared later.

Junior Sophia Schirmer-Beiermann was selected to participate in the 2017 Missouri Girls State Program at University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. She’ll join peers from across the state for the annual leadership and government program, coordinated by American Legion. Girls State is June 25-July 1. To learn more visit, missourigirlsstate.org.
