DIY: How to make fried Oreos
May 14, 2015
Every August across the Midwest, state fairs start popping where there are many rides, games, and most impotantly, food. State fairs are known for a plethora of fried foods, such as fried pickles, fried macaroni and cheese balls, fried snickers and fried Oreo’s. Why wait until August for these tasty treats, though? Now, you can learn how to make fried Oreo’s in your own home.
Ingredients:
- 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup pancake mix
- 1 package of Oreo’s
Steps:
- Heat oil in deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Stir the pancake mix until no dry lumps remain.
- Dip the cookies into the batter one at a time, and carefully place into the hot frying oil.
- Cook the dipped cookies into the hot frying oil until the cookies are golden brown, about 2 minutes (make sure you flip the cookies constantly until golden brown on both sides).
- Drain on a paper towel-lined plate before serving.
