Q:Where did you go to college?

A: My first round of college I attended Indiana University, and I studied English Education. My second time I got my Masters at SIUE in English American Literature. Then I started my Master’s of education at UMSL ,but it was a waste of time so i stopped.

Q:How many years have you been teaching?

A: I’ve been teaching for 18 years. My first 3 years where at  Hazelwood East on the Northside, and then my last 15  years where at Lindbergh on the Southside.

Q:What inspires the most as a teacher?

A: My students.I think they are always adapting and changing. So many things change in education all the time, so i feel and think that my students are the key element on helping me change and become a better teacher

Q: What do you like about GCAA?

A:So far, I love that it’s visual performing arts school, students have so much energy, and your ready to do really cool and amazing things.

Q:Have you experienced anything different teaching here?

A: Yeah, i have. I came from a primarily white school district and so I think it was most definitely more prevalent and conservative school. They had less open minded vibe but as here you can see kids from all different sides of the spectrum

Q:What has been your favorite part of teaching here so far?

A: My favorite part is getting to know my students and decorating my classroom.
