Billie Eilish releases sophomore album “Happier Than Ever”
October 19, 2021
Billie Eilish came out with the new album, “Happier Than Ever”, on July 30th, 2021.
After gaining massive popularity in the past year, Eilish released her second album when her fans needed it most.
Eilish’s very successful first album “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO”, with over 7 billion streams, gained a lot of popularity amongst teenagers. It was very relatable to most teenagers as it talked about stress, depression, and heartbreak.
This new album is more mature as Eilish has grown up and so has her fans.
The album starts off with a song named “Getting Older” where she explains how what she does feels like a job, and it is not as much fun as it used to be. She uses this song to show how she has almost lost her passion for music, as it is becoming her job. This song sets the tone for the album.
Happier Than Ever has many heartbreak anthems like “I Didn’t Change My Number” and “Lost Cause.” While also having slower and somber songs like “Halley’s Comet,” “Everybody Dies,” and “Male Fantasy”
The song that has gained the most popularity is the title track “Happier Than Ever” where Eilish starts off slow and then builds up into a hard-hitting, rock star beat.
This album is definitely one of my favorite albums of all time. Every single song on this album is something different while also having the iconic Billie sound. You can tell that every song had so much thought put into it.
My favorite songs on this album are “Billie Bossa Nova,” “Halley’s Comet,” and of course “Happier Than Ever.” Each of these songs is so well put together and so well produced.
It is still a toss up for me if I like this album more or her first album. But both albums are exceptional.
