GCAAtoday named finalist for national award

GCAAtoday.com is one of 44 finalists for the 2019 Online Pacemaker from the National Scholastic Press Association. The NSPA looks at the work of many different high school student media publications, to award the best of the best. They review yearbooks, magazines, online sites, and broadcast programs. The two groups of three judges look at approximately 200 websites that are submitted from 34 States. These 44 finalists were only judged and picked from their online news product. GCAAtoday.com was one of the six St. Louis schools that were chosen.

“I’d like to think that we’re trying some new things this year or taking old things and putting some twists on them. We redesigned the website and have been creating things in a new way. We’re trying to revolutionize the way we do things,” said Engagement Editor Aurora Phillips.

The Pacemaker winners will be announced on April 25th at the closing awards ceremony for the National High School Journalism Convention in Anaheim.
