Middle School Student Council will sponsor a Rummage Sale Saturday, Jan. 28, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the South Cafeteria. Proceeds will benefit GCAA’s first Grade 8 Awards Dinner/Dance as well as the Counselors’ Emergency Fund. Donations are being sought now. Please drop off your gently used clothing, toys, or household items before or after school in Ms. Oyola or Ms. Zeisset’s rooms. For larger donation loads, please drop off items the day before the sale, Friday, Jan. 27, after school at the South Café door facing Grandel Square.

The Gay Straight Alliance met January 10th in room 113 from 3:15-4:15. They will discuss club T-shirts.  The following dates they will be meeting are January 10, 24. February 7, 21. March 7, 21. April 4, 18. May 2, 16.

Artists for a Cause has a meeting on Thursday after school in Mr. Wes Smith’s room, 301 in the basement until 4:30.  All high school pathway students are welcome to join in for community service projects.

Anyone interested in participating in Poetry Out Loud, a competition where you memorize and perform famous works of poetry, the final opportunity to sign up is after school in Ms. Sobotka’s room (room 402) this Thursday, January 12th. We will meet from 3:15-3:40 to discuss the competition and regulations. See Ms. Sobotka with any questions.

Seniors and juniors graduating early: make sure you have ordered your cap and gown through Balfour. If you have not done so yet, please go to the Balfour website at www.Balfour.com complete your order.

Global Ethos still has a few spots open for their trip to Nicaragua this summer. Down payments are due immediately. Please see Mr. Dinwiddie or Mr. Evan Smith for more information.

For all those already signed up for the Nicaragua trip, please come to our regularly scheduled meeting today at 3:15 in Mr. Evan Smith’s room, room 501.

There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive on Jan. 18th from 9am-1:45.  Students interested in giving blood must be 16 or older.  16 years olds will need to have a consent form signed.  You can sign up during your lunch shifts this week and early next week at the STUCO Blood Drive Table set up in the lobby between the north and south cafeterias.
