Congratulations to Christine Nobbe, instructional coach, who is the recipient of the 2017 Challenger Learning Center’s Inspiring Teacher Award. No bee is among seven educators from the area who was honored for their mission to inspire the future generation of innovators. The awards were presented last Thursday at an event at UMSL.

A new club, Interest group will meet Thursday, Feb. 2 from 3:15 to 4:15 in Luke Stegmann’s room, B200. Staff member Quinlan Holt spoke to the club’s founder for more information.

Congratulations to Bisa Adero, Tobias Wells, Sevahn Henderson, Bobbi Sanders, Nila Wright, Hannah Myles, and Cameron Johnson, as they continued Poetic Soulz first place winning streak at the poetry slam hosted by GCAA on last Thursday.

Adero and Wells also won a slam on Saturday at UMSL. Their win at UMSL puts them one step closer to qualifying for nationals.

Global Ethos student travelers headed to Nicaragua this summer will meet for their regularly schedule preparation meeting Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 3:15 in room 501. These meetings are mandatory. Please make arrangements to be picked up at 4:15.

Social Justice Solidarity Network will meet in room 501 Monday morning during advisory. See Evan Smith for a pass beforehand.

The next Middle School Speech & Debate meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 1 in Emily Hill’s room.

Class registration for the 2017-2018 school year begins next week. There will be informational meetings in the north cafeteria during advisory. Students in 8th grade will meet on Monday, freshmen on Tuesday, sophomores on Thursday and juniors on Friday.

Congratulations to English, Speech and Journalism teacher Travis Armknecht on being one of ten recipients of this year’s Journalism Education Association Rising Star Award. This national award honors media advisers who have completed five or fewer years of advising and show remarkable promise as an adviser and in service to the profession.
