Thumbs up Thursday was to raise awareness of bullying and teen suicide. Feb. 23-27 the school had pledges to be a bully free zone! Through GCAA, several girls were chosen to attend the Megan Meier Foundation assembly. The event was held at Maryville University. After this, the girls brought back what they had learned about bullying and helping out a friend. Junior, Brenna Joslin, one of the students who helped put Anti-Bullying Week together, sat at a table during lunch and got students to pledge to be bully-free. After pledging, students painted their thumbnails purple to show they had pledged. “If no stage is too big, then no voice is too small.” a motto the girls use to represent what they are trying to get across about “speaking up and being heard.”
