1818 at GCAA

Ashley Pavlige, Staff Writer

The National Alliance for Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships defines dual-credit (1818) courses as “The opportunity for high school students to take college credit–bearing courses taught by college-approved high school teachers.” In 1818 courses, you earn credit that goes towards meeting your high school requirements, and college credit. 1818 courses provide opportunities for students in many ways.

One common misconception is that dual-credit courses are pre-college (preparatory), or AP courses. This being false, they are college-level courses that are just as rigorous as those offered on a university campus.
